Torrevieja, situated at sea in the south of the Costa Blanca, has been named by the WHO to be one of the healthiest places on earth. The reason for this is that Torrevieja is surrounded by 2 of Europe’s largest salt lakes, known as “Laguna de la Mata” and “Salinas de San Miguel”. The high iodine concentration along with the temperature – Torrevieja has 320 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of 18-28 degrees Celsius – makes the climate to be what the experts call “a micro climate” which is unique for this area. Perfect for people with arthritis, cardiac trouble, airway problems or skin conditions.
